TSC, the incredible country hardware store

By Miriam King, QMI Agency

TSC is described as the "incredible Country Hardware Store," catering to those who "enjoy the country lifestyle."

The aisles and shelves are packed with everything from animal feed and barbed wire, to power tools, hiking boots, fishing gear, toys, BBQs, bird seed, books on grilling and home preserving - even Duck Dynasty t-shirts - everything possible, for home, garden and farm.

The store quietly opened earlier this month, but on Friday, June 21 - the first official day of summer - TSC held its official Grand Opening.

"This is a big day for Bradford," said Bradford West Gwillimbury Mayor Doug White. "TSC is in Bradford!"

White noted, "This is a big day for two reasons. First of all this has an enormous impact on this plaza" - taking up the entire west wing of the Holland Square Plaza at 190 Holland St. West (formerly Giant Tiger).

And secondly, White said, "It's going be a great, great future for this part of Town - right in the core of downtown Bradford. This store is an anchor for the downtown, which needs this kind of presence."

He was joined by Councillors Ron Simpson and Carl Hordyk, and Deputy Mayor Rob Keffer, and by members of Bradford Board of Trade board of directors, who presented congratulations and welcomed the new business to Town.

Then Dave Barrie, Store Manager, armed with bolt-cutters, cut a metal-link chain, to officially open the Bradford store.

The Grand Opening was scheduled for 7 a.m. - just about the time that the first "early bird" customers normally can start shopping; opens at 8 a.m. on Sundays.
