Horse-y Halloween at Foxwood Farm
Foxwood Farm English riding stable held its annual Fall Horse Show and Halloween party on October 27.
Young equestrians competed for ribbons in classes that included "Handy Pony" - a timed obstacle course, that challenged riders to weave in and out of a line of pumpkins, in the 60' by 120' indoor arena. Then they and their ponies dressed up for the annual costume competition.
Zombie Pony, Hula Horse, a Bridal Party complete with Bride and Groom horses, a pony dressed as the Easter Bunny, accompanied by riders representing Easter Eggs - it was all part of the creative fun.
Bradford West Gwillimbury Mayor Doug White and daughters, Jamie and Jaclyn, were on hand to help with the judging, and to hand out ribbons and treats.
"I've got great students, and supportive parents," said owner Robyn Freer. Students range from beginners to advanced riders, with a focus on horsemanship, rather than competition, said Freer. "We're here to have fun!"
