Man charged with manslaughter in fatal beating of Bradford man

BRADFORD – A Mississauga man is facing several charges, including manslaughter, after he turned himself into South Simcoe police Friday regarding the fatal beating of a 56-year-old man.
Police say the Bradford man died late Thursday afternoon. He has not been identified by police at this time.
Five other people have been arrested and charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm relating to an attack that occurred at 2 a.m. on Sept. 12; it injured a 23-year-old Bradford man and sent his father to a Toronto trauma centre in critical condition, with a head injury.
THe son suffered a broken arm and ligament damage.
On Friday, a sixth suspect, a 20-year-old man, turned himself in to police and was charged with Manslaughter, Assault with a weapon and Assault causing bodily harm. He was scheduled to make a court appearance Saturday.
Police are still trying to determine what happened during the early hours of Saturday, Sept. 12. Alcohol was certainly a factor, police have said.
Investigators say the weapon was a stick.
Police are still trying to determine if those involved knew each other before the incident.
A 20-year-old North York man was arrested that weekend. On Sept. 15, police arrested two men, age 20 and 22, and both from Bradford West Gwillimbury.
On Sept. 17, police detectives arrested a 20-year-old Bradford man and a Newmarket woman, age 21.
