Cocaine, cash and assault rifle seized by South Simcoe police

BRADFORD – Drugs, cash and a weapon were seized after police executed two search warrants in Bradford on Thursday.

South Simcoe police, along with Simcoe County tactical paramedics, executed the search warrants after a month-long investigation into drug trafficking.

Police say more than $25,000 worth of cocaine, a large amount of cash a nine-millimetre tactical assault rifle were seized.

A 51-year-old woman and a 52-year-old man, both of Bradford, were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession for the purpose of trafficking and trafficking in a controlled substance.

They both also face several firearms-related charges including careless storage of ammunition and possession of a prohibited firearm.

The man and woman appeared in bail court on Friday.
