Innisfil – At about 7:16 a.m. on October 6, South Simcoe Police, Innisfil Fire & Rescue and Simcoe County Paramedics joined Metrolinx investigators, at a report of a pedestrian struck on the GO train line, about 800 metres south of Innisfil Beach Road. A 20 year old Innisfil man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A coroner's investigation showed that a southbound train struck and killed the man while he was on the railway tracks. The incident is not considered suspicious; no charges will be laid.

The train and passengers were delayed until just before 11 a.m.

The name of the victim will not be released, police say.
