Bradford – Just before 10 p.m. on Oct. 12, South Simcoe Police were called to a home in Bradford, after a neighbour reported a loud domestic argument.
When officers arrived, they could hear a man and a woman arguing, and a child crying. When the 2 officers entered the apartment, they were both assaulted by the woman. She was arrested and taken from the scene, but at the station assaulted a third officer, and damaged a door on the police cruiser.
The male was evasive with officers, and gave a false name. When his true identity was revealed, officers discovered that the man was in violation of a bail recognizance. He was taken to the station, where he damaged a door in the cell area. A quantity of marijuana was also seized from the apartment.
A 27 year old Bradford woman was charged with 3 counts of Assault Police, Assault with Intent to Resist Arrest, Possession of Marijuana, and Mischief under $5000. A 29 year old Markham male was charged with Obstruct Police, 2 counts of Fail to Comply with a recognizance, Possession of Marijuana, and Mischief Under $5000. Both were held for a bail hearing. The child was not injured, and was taken in by family members.
The assaulted officers did not require medical attention.
