The spirit of Terry Fox, in the schools

By Bradford Times Staff

“We are Terry Fox”... Schools across the community celebrated the spirit of Terry Fox, by hosting Terry Fox Runs and raising funds for the Terry Fox Foundation and Cancer research.

At Fieldcrest Elementary School, students ran laps around the school yard on September 28, and raised $3216.60 for research.

At St. Teresa of Calcutta, the Run was delayed to October 6, when the older kids ran around the block, Intermediate students walked to Holy Martyrs of Japan Church and did laps in the parking lot – and  primary students stayed on school property, walking around their school. They raised over $1600.

At schools across Bradford West Gwillimbury, students and teachers found ways to  honour Terry Fox, and raise funds to fight cancer.
