A Crafty Season

Karen Ball, crafter extraordinaire, is holding her annual Christmas Craft Sale October 28 and 29 at the Royal Oak clubhouse, 31 Victoria St. West in Cookstown. From 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day, drop by to pick up handknitted sweaters, socks, mitts, hats, scarves, ceramic items, quilts, bunting bags,  Christmas décor items and much more, all of it created by Ball over the preceding months – with 25% of proceeds going to Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto. Come out and find great gifts - and help SickKids.

It's just the start of a season of Craft Sales and Bazaars....

Evergreen Bazaar.   St. James United Church, 2330 Victoria St. in Stroud, Innisfil, hosts its annual Evergreen Bazaar, 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 4, with deletable pies, tasty pickles, baby quilts, aprons, meat pies, scarves, hats, Children's Shopping Centre and craft area, and much. Come for your Christmas shopping – and enjoy an early morning coffee and muffin, or a famous Meat Pie Luncheon.

St. Peter's Christmas Fayre. St. Peter's Anglican Church  in Churchill, Innisfil  hosts its Christmas Fayre, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 4.  Featuring crafts, books, a fabulous bake sale, toonie and white elephant table, and a lunch room that will be offering hamburgers, hot dogs, Spaghetti, Soup, Desserts and beverages. The Fayre takes place on the same weekend as the Innisfil Studio Tour, so drop by and enjoy lunch while on the tour. All welcome; wheelchair accessible at the side door. CWL Christmas Bazaar.  The Catholic Women’s League of Holy Martyrs of Japan Parish host their annual Christmas Bazaar, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 4 and 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 5, at the church, 167 Essa St. in Bradford. Home-baking, crafts, Book Table, Plant Sale, new and used treasures, and a selection of wonderful gift baskets, already wrapped. Lunch will be available on Saturday only - home-made soups, sandwiches, desserts, tea, coffee or water.

Barrie Craft Show. Area Productions Inc. presents the 23rd annual Christmas Arts & Crafts Show at the Barrie Molson Centre, 555 Bayview Drive, Nov. 3-5. Open noon to 8 p.m. on Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, featuring over 100 vendors. Admission is $8 adults, $6 for seniors (65 and older). Fill out a ballot to win a $25 gift certificate.

Lakeside Retirement Bazaar. Lakeside Retirement residence, 985 Innisfil Beach Rd. in Alcona, hosts its annual Christmas Craft Sale and Bazaar on Saturday, November 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Everyone is welcome to drop in, and purchase crafts made by residents and local artisans, delicious treats and more.

Eastern Star Bazaar. The Innisfil Eastern Star hosts a Christmas Bazaar, Luncheon and Bake Sale on Saturday, November 18 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Masonic Hall, 2156 Victoria St. in Stroud. There will be Christmas Crafts, knitting, home-made pies and tarts, cookies and much more. A hot chili lunch with dessert and tea or coffee will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., for only $6.
